Today, we’re beginning to roll out an update for Arm®-based Windows 11 PCs, which introduces changes and improvements to the Xbox PC app experience.
Game Downloads: The Xbox PC app experience is expanding to support game downloads and local play on Arm®-based Windows 11 PCs. Insiders can download titles from the Xbox PC app catalog unlocking more games to play locally on Arm®-based Windows 11 PCs – including titles offered through your PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
Windows and Xbox are working closely together to ensure compatibility across the catalog, and we’re developing new features that will enable more games to be played on Arm®-based Windows 11 PCs in the coming months. We’re excited to team up with Insiders to continue testing and helping us enable full access to your library of games.
This update (version 2508.1001.27.0 and higher) is available to Windows Insiders who are also Xbox Insiders enrolled in the PC Gaming Preview on their Arm®-based Windows 11 PCs, located in the Xbox Insider Hub.
If you’re not enrolled in the PC Gaming Preview, here’s how to get started:
- Download the Xbox Insider Hub from the Microsoft Store.
- Launch the Xbox Insider Hub and sign-in with your Microsoft account you use for gaming.
- Under “Previews”, navigate to “PC Gaming” and click join.
- Once the Xbox Insider Hub shows you as “joined” for the PC Gaming Preview – go to the Microsoft Store and check for updates and you should see an Xbox PC app update for version 1001.27.0 or higher).
These features will roll out gradually over time, so some Insiders may see the update before others.
