Frontier has launched a first-of-its-kind rewards program for new members that incentivizes travelers to switch to the low-cost airline by matching miles and offering the opportunity to earn companion passes and elite status. In conjunction with the airline’s credit card, travelers could soon be rolling in miles.

Mile for Mile

Consumers may be familiar with “make the switch” offers from phone or Wi-Fi carriers that make the prospect of switching providers lucrative, thanks to cash offers or reimbursement for the cost of switching. Similarly, Frontier’s Miles Match Program will match up to 1 million miles for new members from their combined mileage balance across multiple qualifying airlines.

To qualify, members need to earn the same number of miles with Frontier within 12 months. For example, a traveler with 10,000 miles across other airlines who earns 10,000 miles with Frontier within 12 months will receive 20,000 Frontier Miles for future trips. The offer is valid only for new members who must apply between August 25 and September 26, 2025. Flights must be booked directly with Frontier Airlines, and cardholders of Frontier Airlines co-branded credit cards may use their cards as payment.

Frontier is also making the program more accessible for frequent travelers by allowing members to choose how many miles they want to match. For example, if you have 200,000 miles with other airlines, but think you’re capable of racking up only 50,000 to match with Frontier over the next 12 months, you can use that portion of your other airline balance. Matched miles will appear in an individual’s account in four to five weeks.

Get Elite Gold Status for a Fee

Frontier is also making it easier to earn Elite Gold status if you’re a member of another eligible frequent flyer program. Members of Southwest Rapid Rewards, JetBlue TrueBlue, Spirit Free Spirit or Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan can unlock instant Elite Gold status at Frontier through December 2026 for just $69.

Members with Elite Gold status gain complimentary perks like a free carry-on bag, priority boarding, free preferred seat selection and upgrades to premium and UpFront Plus seating, which guarantees an empty middle seat in the first two rows of the aircraft for extra legroom and comfort.

Fly Often for Free Companionship

Loyal Frontier Airlines World Mastercard®* cardholders can also earn free companion passes, once they spend $3,000.

For purchases made between now and January 31, 2026, cardmembers will earn companion travel certificates at the following amounts:

  • First certificate at $3,000 in purchases
  • Second certificate at $10,000 in purchases
  • Third certificate at $20,000 in purchases
  • Unlimited companion travel at $50,000 in purchases

Each awarded certificate will cover the fare for a companion of the cardmember’s choice on future travel with Frontier, with the cardmember paying government taxes and fees.

The certificate can be redeemed for roundtrip travel within one year of issuance. Blackout dates do apply, however, and companions must have a Frontier Miles account number that can be added to the initial ticket booking.

“We’re proving that low-fare travel can also be the most rewarding,” Bobby Schroeter, chief commercial officer of Frontier Airlines, said in a news release.

Frontier Cardholders Maximize Rewards

Frontier Airlines World Mastercard®* cardholders can max out their rewards thanks to the card’s incentive structure, which offers 5 miles per dollar spent on eligible purchases at flyfrontier.com, 3 miles per dollar on eligible restaurant purchases and 1 mile per dollar on all other purchases.

If you’re a frequent flyer with Frontier, using the card for everyday purchases can help you rack up $3,000 spend and help you net those companion passes. For those who have significant spend with other airlines, the card can help you rack up miles quickly for a sizeable match.

Those who don’t have the card can consider signing up for it, with a lucrative sign-up bonus of 50,000 miles after spending $500 on purchases and paying the annual fee both within the first 90 days of account opening. The annual fee of $99 can be easily offset with the generous welcome bonus.
