Thanks to a new partnership, Bilt members will be able to make housing payments and shop at neighborhood merchants using their Venmo balance starting in early 2026.
Venmo will join Bilt’s existing payment options, which include ACH transfers, debit cards and linked credit cards. The integration will let members pay their rent or mortgage and earn points through the Bilt app or directly in Venmo using their Venmo balance or linked payment methods.
Anyone interested in earning Bilt Points can sign up for a free Bilt Rewards account. At the time of registering, they can apply for the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® (rates & fees) or continue without the credit card application.
A New Housing Payment Option Inside Venmo
Bilt members currently use ACH transfers, debit cards or linked credit cards to pay housing costs and earn rewards. The new partnership will allow them to use their Venmo balance or a linked payment method to make rent or mortgage payments directly through the Venmo app or Bilt’s platform.
The collaboration follows Bilt’s announcement earlier this year of a partnership with United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM), which will let members earn Bilt Points on monthly mortgage payments starting in early 2026.
Under the new partnership with Venmo, Bilt members will be able to:
- Use their Venmo balance or linked payment method to make housing payments through Venmo.
- Use their Venmo balance or linked payment method to make purchases with Bilt’s network of over 45,000 merchants, including local restaurants, retailers, gyms, pharmacies and more.
- Earn Bilt Points on payments that didn’t previously qualify for rewards.
Neighborhood Spending Comes Into Focus
Beyond housing, Venmo payments will extend across Bilt’s network of more than 45,000 restaurants, gyms, pharmacies and other local merchants nationwide.
By joining Bilt’s loyalty-driven marketplace, Venmo aims to expand its presence in real-world commerce, an area of focus as it evolves its app experience.
For merchants, the integration could provide access to Venmo’s nearly 100 million active accounts, offering an option to reach more digitally engaged customers and provide additional payment flexibility.
What It Means for Bilt Mastercard Users
The partnership arrives as the $0-annual-fee Bilt World Elite Mastercard® (rates & fees) continues to set itself apart by letting cardholders earn points on rent payments without transaction fees.
Cardholders earn 1 point per dollar on rent payments without the transaction fee (on up to 100,000 points each calendar year), 3 points per dollar on dining, 2 points per dollar on travel (when booked through the Bilt Travel Portal or directly with an airline, hotel, car rental or cruise company) and 1 point per dollar on other purchases. The card must be used at least 5 times each statement period to earn points.
While cardholders can already pay rent through the Bilt app using ACH transfers, debit or another linked credit card, Venmo integration will offer renters another cash balance to tap when making housing payments.
As mortgage rewards roll out in early 2026, the card’s appeal could grow among first-time homeowners looking to continue earning rewards on housing payments after purchasing a property. That shift could help keep users within Bilt’s ecosystem over their entire housing journey.
Bottom Line
Housing payments remain one of the largest expenses for many Americans, but have lagged in digital convenience and rewards. The partnership between Venmo and Bilt aims to give members more flexibility and opportunities to earn rewards when making housing payments and shopping with merchants within Bilt’s network.
