Disney Plus is getting more expensive—again.

The streaming service has increased its monthly subscription cost, but one credit card perk could net you a significant discount for an entire year.

Here We Go Again

Certain U.S. Disney+ subscription plans will increase by $2 to $3 starting October 21, 2025, according to disclaimers shared on the service’s support page.

The price of a standalone Disney+ plan with ads will rise from $9.99 to $11.99 per month. The no-ads version, Disney+ Premium, will go up by $3, from $15.99 to $18.99 per month.

Bundle prices will also increase between $2 and $3. The Disney+ and Hulu Bundle (with ads), for instance, will jump $2, from $10.99 to $12.99 per month. The Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select Bundle (with ads) will rise by $3, from $16.99 to $19.99 per month.

This isn’t the first time Disney+ has raised its prices. The company has made annual increases a trend, raising subscription costs in December 2022, October 2023 and most recently, October 2024.

The Amex Perk That Can Help

If you don’t already have the Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express (Terms apply, see rates & fees), now may be the time to apply. If you’re looking to subsidize the rising cost of your Disney+ membership, this card offers a perk that may have flown under your radar.

Blue Cash Preferred cardholders receive a $10 monthly statement credit for Disney+ subscriptions—including bundles with Hulu and ESPN—up to $120 per year. Activation is required to redeem the perk and your subscription is subject to auto-renewal, but the $10 discount can significantly reduce your streaming costs.

Best of all, the perk comes with minimal strings attached. The Blue Cash Preferred has a $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $95.

If you’re serious about maximizing the card’s value, consider using its welcome offer to cover your Disney+ costs for the entire year. New cardholders can earn a $250 statement credit after spending $3,000 in eligible purchases within the first 6 months.

As for rewards, the card offers 6% cash back at U.S. supermarkets on up to $6,000 per year in eligible purchases (then 1%), 6% cash back on select U.S. streaming subscriptions, 3% cash back at eligible U.S. gas stations and on transit purchases (including taxis/rideshare, parking, tolls, trains, buses and more) and 1% cash back on other purchases. Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit and at Amazon.com checkout.

While the card’s annual fee rises for your second year, its ongoing rewards and monthly streaming credit can make the cost to carry it worth it.

Bottom Line

Disney+ subscriptions will get more expensive in October, but the Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express can help offset the increase. Cardholders can receive a monthly statement credit that can reduce the cost of their subscription.
